This project invites a small team of visual artists and content creators to craft a dynamic street art dialogue between two iconic Maltese locations: the historic fortified city of Valletta and the vibrant waterfront of Sliema. Using the island's rich cultural tapestry and contemporary urban aesthetics, the team will create two connected mural installations that reflect Malta's blend of ancient heritage and modern creativity. The murals will incorporate local motifs, such as the Maltese cross, limestone textures, and sea reflections, reimagined through a bold, graphic style inspired by pop surrealism and digital art trends. The creative process begins with a site-specific research phase, exploring the architectural details and community stories of both locations. Artists will then collaborate on a shared visual language that echoes across the two sites, perhaps using a continuous line or a colour gradient that travels from one mural to the other. The final murals will be documented through time-lapse photography and short video reels, capturing the transformation of public spaces and the artistic journey. This project not only produces portfolio-worthy artworks but also fosters public engagement, inviting locals and tourists to experience a fresh narrative on Malta's evolving identity. The unique juxtaposition of Valletta's baroque grandeur with Sliema's cosmopolitan energy provides a rich visual contrast.
