This project is a sensory exploration of Manchester's Northern Quarter after dark. We will create a 3-track visual EP where each track is paired with a short film shot in a different iconic location: the neon-lit Stevenson Square, the quiet back alleys of Tib Street, and the rooftop views from Afflecks Palace. The music will blend field recordings from these spots with electronic and ambient elements, creating an immersive audio-visual journey that celebrates the city's gritty, creative soul. The concept is to capture the quiet moments between the city's famous nightlife: a lone street musician, rain on cobblestones, the glow of a kebab shop sign. These vignettes will be woven into a seamless narrative that feels both intimate and cinematic. The final output will be a cohesive 10-12 minute film that can be submitted to music video festivals or released as a standalone art piece on YouTube and Vimeo. What makes this unique is its hyperlocality: we are not just filming in Manchester; we are using its architecture, textures, and sounds as the primary creative palette. The director will have full creative control to orchestrate this fusion of sound and vision, making it a standout portfolio piece that showcases both directorial and sound design skills.
