This project aims to create a 6-track EP that documents Mumbai's monsoon season through sound. Rather than traditional songwriting, we'll use field recordings captured across the city—from the rhythmic patter of rain on chawls to the distant horns of wet traffic, from the splash of puddles in Colaba to the dripping of water temples. These recordings will be woven together with live performances on traditional instruments (tanpura, tabla, flute) and processed through modern electronic production techniques. The unique approach lies in treating Mumbai itself as the primary composer. Each track will correspond to a different neighborhood and time of day during monsoon, creating a sonic map of the city's emotional landscape during this transformative season. The final product will be both an artistic statement and an immersive audio experience that transports listeners directly into Mumbai's rainy streets.
