This project transforms a forgotten corner of Manchester's industrial heritage into a living, breathing stage. We will create an immersive, site-specific performance that uses the raw architecture of a former cotton mill or warehouse as our canvas. The piece will explore the city's past, present, and future through a fusion of physical theatre, dance, and live sound design. Performers will interact with the space—its columns, stairwells, and echoes—creating a dialogue between the human body and the mechanical ghosts of the Industrial Revolution. What makes this unique is its focus on authentic Manchester history and its sensory approach. The audience will be guided through the space, experiencing the performance in intimate, fragmented scenes. The soundscape will be built from recordings of actual machinery from the Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI) and new compositions created live. This is not a traditional play; it's a visceral, cinematic journey that turns the city's own story into a striking, contemporary performance. The final piece will be documented as a high-quality film, creating a portfolio piece that showcases both the performance and the atmospheric power of Manchester's industrial landscape.
