This project is a cinematic, three-part spoken word and dance series set against the iconic backdrops of New York, Miami, and Los Angeles. Each city forms the emotional core of one character’s soliloquy: a Wall Street trader at dawn in the Financial District, a retiree on South Beach at golden hour, and an aspiring actor on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at midnight. The performers deliver original, site-specific spoken word poetry while a dancer interprets the emotional subtext, all captured with dynamic cinematography and immersive sound design. The intercutting of these three urban stories creates a triptych that explores themes of ambition, loss, and reinvention—each city’s unique energy shaping the performance. What makes this project unique is its fusion of live performance with cinematic storytelling and location-based immersive audio. Each scene is shot as a single continuous take, with the performer reacting to the real environment—passersby, traffic, weather—making the performance raw and authentic. The final edit layers ambient city sounds with a subtle original score, creating an intimate, film-like experience that showcases the performers’ versatility. The project leverages the trend of site-specific art and the growing popularity of short-form, narrative-driven content that feels both personal and epic. The final deliverables are three polished video vignettes (2-3 minutes each) that can be shared as a series on Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube, plus a behind-the-scenes documentary style reel. This project is perfect for actors, spoken word artists, dancers, and filmmakers looking to build a compelling portfolio piece that highlights their ability to create powerful, location-driven narratives.
