This project transforms the iconic Sobi Hill and the vibrant sounds of Ilorin into an immersive digital art piece. We will capture the unique rhythms of the city—from the calls of traders in the Mandate Market to the distant echoes of the Emir's Palace—and translate them into a dynamic, evolving visual tapestry. The core of the installation will be a live-generated animation of Sobi Hill's silhouette, which morphs and shimmers in response to these collected audio textures. The creative vision is to create a 'sonic landscape' where viewers can experience Ilorin's identity through a new synesthetic lens. We'll use custom software to analyze audio samples and trigger visual elements like particle systems, color palettes, and geometric forms that are inspired by the region's traditional textiles and architecture. The final piece will be a both a captivating digital artwork and a love letter to the city, designed to be projected large-scale or displayed in a gallery setting. What makes this unique is its deep localization—it's not just about any city, but about the specific frequencies and visual heritage of Ilorin. The project blends field recording, generative design, and local inspiration to create a truly original and portfolio-worthy piece that bridges technology and tradition.
