This project captures the vibrant energy of Brixton Market and its surrounding streets, transforming its unique sounds into a multi-layered beat tape. Starting with field recordings of market vendors, buskers, train announcements, and street chatter, our team will compose original instrumental tracks that sample and reinterpret these audio textures. The final piece will blend hip-hop, electronic, and ambient influences, with each track named after a landmark or moment in Brixton, creating an auditory love letter to the neighbourhood. The project leverages the current trend of location-based sound design and the growing appetite for genre-fluid, concept-driven music releases. The result will be a 6-8 track EP available on streaming platforms and accompanied by a visualiser video shot on location.
