This project reimagines Manchester's Northern Quarter as a living stage. A team of three performers will create a 15-minute silent physical theatre piece that interacts with the architecture, street art, and daily rhythm of the area. The performance will be filmed at dusk over three consecutive evenings, capturing the unique energy of the city's creative hub. What makes this unique is its fusion of street performance and cinematic storytelling. The performers will use precise, choreographed movements to respond to real-time elements—passersby, changing light, and the neon glow of Afflecks Palace. The final film will be edited into a tight, atmospheric mini-documentary that feels both spontaneous and deeply intentional, celebrating Manchester's DIY spirit and its thriving independent arts scene. By leveraging current trends in immersive theatre and vertical video storytelling, this project will be portfolio gold for any performer or director looking to showcase their ability to adapt to unconventional spaces.
