This project invites musicians, illustrators, and graphic designers to collaborate on creating a unique audio-visual piece that captures the essence of Bengaluru's vibrant art scene. The concept involves visiting three distinct galleries—the National Gallery of Modern Art, Venkatappa Art Gallery, and Gallery Sumukha—during off-hours to field-record the sounds of empty spaces, footsteps on marble, distant traffic, and the hum of air conditioning. These raw audio samples will be composed into an electroacoustic track that evokes the quiet, contemplative atmosphere of these spaces. The accompanying visual element will be an animated graphic score, designed by our illustrator and graphic designer, that interprets the music's structure through abstract shapes and colors inspired by the galleries' architecture and artworks. The final piece will be released as a limited-edition digital EP with cover art, a behind-the-scenes video, and an interactive webpage where viewers can listen while exploring a virtual gallery tour. What makes this project uniquely Bangalore is its focus on the city's rich, yet often overlooked, art institutions that blend colonial architecture with contemporary creativity. By turning the silence of these halls into music, we highlight the contrast between Bengaluru's chaotic tech identity and its serene artistic pockets. The project leverages the trend of site-specific soundscapes and generative art, appealing to audiences who appreciate experimental music and immersive experiences. With a team of 3-6 people (composer/field recordist, illustrator, graphic designer, animator, and possibly a videographer), we can deliver a polished, portfolio-worthy piece within 3 weeks. The target audience includes art lovers, ambient music enthusiasts, and fans of Bangalore's cultural scene. The deliverables will serve as a unique addition to any creative portfolio, showcasing cross-disciplinary collaboration and technical skill in audio production and visual design.
