Project Brief

This project captures the dynamic pulse of two distinct British cities, London and Hull, through a cinematic travelogue. It explores how creative energy flows from the capital's iconic landmarks to Hull's historic waterfront and emerging arts scene. The film will interweave time-lapse sequences of London's non-stop motion with intimate, slow-paced vignettes of Hull's community spaces, like Hull Minster and the Deep, creating a narrative of contrasts and connections. The result is a portfolio-worthy piece that celebrates urban diversity and cultural transformation. Unique to this project is the use of a dual-location narrative structure, where the same themes (like sunrise, market life, and nightlife) are filmed in both cities and edited side-by-side. The team will leverage local talent from both locations, with the London crew capturing fast-paced street photography and the Hull crew focusing on heritage and renewal. The final edit will incorporate a custom soundtrack blending electronic beats from London's underground scene with Hull's folk influences. By highlighting Hull's status as UK City of Culture and London's ever-evolving identity, this project offers a fresh perspective on British regionalism. It's perfect for a small team passionate about visual storytelling and cultural commentary, with potential for festival submission or online series launch.
