For decades, Bengaluru was known as the Garden City, but rapid urbanization has hidden many of its historic parks behind concrete and neglect. 'Garden City Zenith' invites a small creative team to rediscover and digitally reimagine five overlooked public parks: Lalbagh's back-lane groves, Cubbon Park's quiet corners, the old Halasuru Lake walkway, the bug-infested but charming Benson Town garden, and the Malleswaram flower market's secret pocket parks. Using a hyper-surreal digital illustration style — blending rain-drenched nostalgia with neo-futurist flora — the project will produce a series of 5 large-format posters plus an AR experience that overlays these forgotten green spaces with their imagined, thriving botanical futures. This project is unique because it merges local heritage research with cutting-edge digital art trends (generative florals, vaporwave botany). The team will start by documenting each park’s current state through photography and sketches, then transform those into lush, stylized illustrations that incorporate local plant species (like the Gulmohar and Jacaranda) and architectural motifs. The final AR layer will allow viewers to point their phones at the printed posters (or at the actual park locations) to see animated flora, pollen particles, and ambient soundscapes — breathing life back into these forgotten spaces. The deliverables will be optimized for social media sharing and local art exhibitions, making them highly portfolio-worthy.
